Art Opening New reception of "REQUIEM" featuring ELEANOR GOLDSTEIN & GARY BATES

For Eleanor Goldstein “Requiem” is a statement of sorrow, chosen to honor the beauty of an imperiled environment. Eleanor (N.Y. artist)  has been chasing these awe-inspiring ices-capes  in her studio since her return from Greenland. In a poetic way, her image flows freely between the abstract and the real. And Eleanor, at 86 y old, is going to be part of a scientific crew this year,  going to the N. Pole to study the evolution of the icebergs…

Gary Bates  (local)  has been captivated by the interplay of light, shape, color, line, texture, and form and seeks to use these elements to support his personal vision.

The transformation of organic forms to abstractions through the play of light and the flow of water over rocky surfaces intrigues him.  His colorful work creates a texturally rich surface that also pushes the medium in a non-traditional way.
