25th Annual Meadowcroft Atlatl Competition

Beginners are invited to try using the atlatl, a spear-thrower used by prehistoric hunters, and watch some of the world’s best competitors from the World Atlatl Association compete for high score. This year we’ll have members of the Shawnee tribe to discuss prehistoric hunting techniques and demonstrate tool production in our Monongahela Indian Village.

This annual event is held in partnership with the World Atlatl Association. It is included with Meadowcroft admission. Please note that the Frontier area will be closed due to the event.

TICKETS AND ADMISSION
Tickets to Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village are available for advance purchase online. Purchasing tickets in advance is encouraged, but tickets will also be sold at the Visitor Center depending on availability and capacity limits.
